Privacy Policy
How GamingScrims collects, uses and protects information from visitors.
Last updated August 2026
This policy explains what GamingScrims collects when you visit, why, and the choices you have about it.
Information we collect
We collect the minimum needed for the site to function and improve:
- Usage analytics — pages visited, general (city/region-level) location, device and browser type, referring source.
- Affiliate click events — which outbound product, deal or coupon links you click, used to track which recommendations are useful and to pay retailer commissions correctly.
- Voluntary information — anything you choose to send us directly, such as by emailing us through our contact page.
We do not collect more personal data than a given feature actually needs to function.
How we use information
- To understand which content and categories are useful, so we can prioritize what to build next.
- To attribute affiliate purchases correctly to GamingScrims.
- To detect and prevent abuse, spam and security issues.
We do not sell personal data to third parties.
Cookies & tracking
The site may use cookies or similar local storage for basic analytics and, later, to remember preferences such as a saved PC build or dismissed banner. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work as expected if you do.
Third-party links & affiliate tracking
Outbound affiliate links take you to third-party retailers (for example Amazon, Newegg or Best Buy) with their own privacy policies. GamingScrims does not control how those retailers handle your data once you leave this site — review their policies directly.
Data retention
Analytics and click-event data is retained only as long as needed for the purposes above, after which it is deleted or aggregated in a form that no longer identifies an individual visitor.
Children's privacy
GamingScrims is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
You can browse most of GamingScrims without providing any personal information. Where a future feature (such as an account or newsletter) requires it, we'll explain exactly what's collected and why before you opt in.
Changes to this policy
As the site adds features — accounts, saved builds, a newsletter — this policy will be updated to reflect what's actually collected. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
