Not everyone can spend premium-chair money. Budget ergonomic mesh chairs from brands like Sihoo and HBADA offer adjustable lumbar support and breathable mesh for much less. They can be a good choice if you know where they compromise.
What they get right
- Adjustable lumbar support: most models include a support you can move up and down.
- Breathable mesh: cooler than PU leather in warm rooms.
- Adjustable headrests and armrests on many models.
Where they cut corners
- Seat foam and mesh durability: cheaper materials can sag over a few years.
- Weight and height ranges: may be narrower than premium chairs. Check the listed limits.
- Mechanisms: tilt and armrest mechanisms may feel looser.
- Warranty: often shorter than premium brands.
Models to look at
- Sihoo M57 ergonomic office chair: a widely sold budget mesh chair.
- Sihoo Doro C300: a step up, with dynamic lumbar support.
- HBADA ergonomic office chair: HBADA’s mesh chairs include models with footrests.
How to judge a chair from a listing
- Seat height range fits your desk and legs.
- Seat depth fits your thighs: two to three fingers’ gap behind the knee.
- Armrest adjustments: at least height; 3D or 4D is better.
- Warranty on the frame, mechanism and gas lift.
- Return policy: chairs are personal. Check whether returns are possible after assembly.
Bottom line
A budget ergonomic chair can be a big step up from a basic gaming chair. Check the adjustments, warranty and return policy before buying.
